HOW TO BE SAVED

SIN
Sin is a transgression against God’s Holy Law an act of rebellion against Him.
 
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.1 John 3:4
 
Sin is knowing what is right and not doing it.
 
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17
 
Adam’s sin brought condemnation to all men.
 
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 5:12
 
The effects of sin are guilt, enslavement, spiritual bondage and separation from God and its punishment is eternal death.
 
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
 
Sin has a high price, sin is deception, the most vicious kind of deception is to get to the end of your life and to discover the thing you believe in to be the absolute truth was an absolute lie. Sin is not what we say it is, or what you think it is, sin is what God's word says it is.
 
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8,10
 
 
JUDGEMENT
Judgement every man and woman who dies will stand before God in judgement.
 
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
 
Everything you hold dear to you is going to be torn from your hands by death. Whether we like it or not, we are all part of the ultimate statistic: Ten out of ten die. Death happens because we have sinned and violated the moral laws of God the Ten Commandments.
 
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
 
Have you ever lied, (even once, white lies etc.)?
 
Ever stolen (anything regardless of its value)?

Have you ever looked with lust?
 
Jesus said, “but I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Have you ever looked with lust?
 
If you said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. That's how God sees you. Nothing is hidden from His holy eyes.
 
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14
 
Will you be innocent or guilty on the day of judgement? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in God’s eternal prison a place called hell.
 
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

That's not God's will.
 
REPENTANCE
The goodness of God leads us to repentance.
 
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Romans 2:4
 
To repent is to be sorry for who you are and what you are, change your mind from unbelief to belief in Jesus Christ, from rejection of Jesus Christ to the faith in Jesus Christ, to recognize that He is indeed "Lord and Saviour”. The Prophets, Apostles and even our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ called for repentance.
 
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:3
 
SALVATION
However, the Holy Bible says God is rich in mercy, and in His great kindness, He provided a Saviour, Jesus took the punishment for the sin of the world. He died on the cross, so that we could be forgiven, then He rose from the dead and defeated death.
 
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
 
To receive everlasting life as a free gift, believe, and trust in the lord Jesus Christ alone.
 
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
 
The sacrifice made through His precious blood shed on the cross through His death, burial, and resurrection.
 
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:8-9
 
God will forgive your sins and you will pass from death unto life.
 
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from
death unto life. John 5:24
 
God will give you a new nature, Born Again filled with the Holy Spirit.
 
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
 
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
 
Eternal life is a free gift. You can’t earn it by doing anything.
 
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
 
Pray, read the Holy Bible daily being led by the Holy Spirit and ask God to help you obey what you read.

ONE WAY TO GRACE TESTIMONY REVELATION TV

PANDEMIC, DISEASES, AND SICKNESSES

The Holy Bible says in the Old Testament that on many occasions God brought plagues and diseases on His people and on His enemies " that you mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth." "for to shew in thee my power."

For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

Exodus 9:14 KJV

And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

Exodus 9:16 KJV

God used plagues on Egypt to force Pharaoh to free the Israelites from bondage, to spare His people from being affected by them. Indicating His Sovereign control over diseases and other afflictions.

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

Exodus 12:12 KJV

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

God also warned His people of the consequences of disobedience including plagues, or suffer many evils.

And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

It’s sometimes hard to imagine our loving and merciful God displaying such wrath and anger towards His people. But God's punishments always have the goal of repentance and restoration.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

In the New Testament, Jesus healed "every sickness and every disease among the people." "He gave His apostles and disciples power to heal all manner of sickness and disease.

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Just as God used plagues and disease to show His power to the Israelites in the Old Testament, Jesus in the New Testament healed as an exhibition of the same power to verify that He was truly the Son of God. Indicating His Sovereign control over all things.

For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

Mark 3:10 KJV

The spread of sickness and diseases is a foretaste of pandemics that will be a part of the end times.

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luke 21:11 KJV

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luke 21:26 KJV

For those who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, pandemics, disease, sickness, etc should be a reminder that life on this earth can be lost at any moment. As bad as pandemics are hell will be worst!

The moment we humble ourselves repent, believe, trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, we pass from eternal death unto eternal life.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 5:24 KJV

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6 KJV

The born again Christian, (John 3:3) however, has the assurance of Salvation and the hope of eternity because of the blood of Christ shed on the cross for us.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Thoughts from Dawn: The Release of One Way to Grace

It's here. It exists. It's out there in the world.

One Way to Grace has been released by our lovely publishers Ambassador International. You can buy it and everything. Somewhere right now, in all likelihood, a person I've never met, never seen, never conceived of, is reading the words I wrapped around the incredible stories of David Daly. Perhaps he or she feels less alone, less desperate, a little closer to a relationship with God. 

Two years, three composition notebooks, and more hours than I can count on Skype. It sounds like a lot, but in truth the whole production came down to one moment. One sentence... 

Making Grace a Reality

Well folks, the book is complete.
Proofreading has been done, submissions made, and a publisher is on board! One Way to Grace is quickly becoming a reality, only one more big step to take.

Because I am a new writer, and David is an everyday man with an incredible but unknown story, we need to raise a small amount of money to invest in the publishing efforts. The publisher we are working with is ready to print, promote, market, and distribute the book as soon as David and I are able to make a $2500 investment. Neither David nor I are rich people, but we are sure that God will help us find a way to reach this funding goal.
Throughout my time as a writer, I've heard stories of expensive self-publishing ventures that ended in disappointment. Let me assure you, this is not self-publishing. The investment is much more similar to the cost of hiring an agent, editor, and publicist. Instead of paying for those services out of the percentage of the book's profits we receive (which David can use to more effectively minister and deliver his testimony to the world) we are taking care of it right up-front.
We are reaching out to you, Dear Reader, for any kind of support you can offer. One Way to Grace will touch so many lives, show so many people how faith and trust in God can transform a man. Not to mention the opportunity to put passages from Scripture and an inspiring testimony into the hands, minds, hearts, and souls of those who need God's love and light in their lives. Even as someone who has not accepted Christ or walked the born-again path that David has, I can attest to the beauty this work has brought into my life, the purpose and relationship with God I have felt since first studying Scripture with David over a year ago.

The needed funding goal is a total of $2500. As we make progress toward that goal, I will update readers here and anyone who chooses to contribute will get regular email updates. Plans are currently being made for a way to easily make contributions through an online platform. Until that option goes live, each contribution will need to be handled personally by either me or David. Pieces of the Puzzle

The themes present in One Way to Grace are by no means unique to David and those involved in his life's journey. Love, betrayal, addiction, recovery...these are all a part of our personal puzzles. The fact that David and I have come together to arrange those experiences into a work of memoir does not mean his story is anymore incredible than yours, mine, or the strangers we walk by on the street everyday.

What sets this story apart is the passion David has for sharing his testimony, the drive I feel to share the beautiful triumph of his life- the knowledge that together he and I have the power to touch even one person's life. If nothing else, David's exuberant and upbeat Belief is enough to inspire hope and optimism.

In the following excerpt from One Way to Grace, a very personal moment in David's life clearly demonstrates a very common theme I'm sure every young parent can relate to:

Our son was born a few short months later in September. I named him Gary, after my dearest childhood friend. He was so small, so fragile. I felt just as fragile as I held him for the first time. The love I immediately felt for this miniature version of Cathy and I overwhelmed my heart. Romantic love is emboldening; a strengthening invincible feeling. The love one feels for a child, though, is much different. To know that this unmarred, unhurt, untouched soul is in your charge is all at once surreal, exhilarating and terrifying. I could barely care for myself, how could God expect me to take on the wellbeing of a wife and newborn son? Yet, there he was. Gary Daly, my son, swaddled in a blanket and sleeping soundly in my arms. Part of me will always see him that way, as the best of me wrapped in plush poly-cotton blend.

Yes, David has experienced things that many of us can never truly imagine. Life in Northern Ireland during the late 1960's and early 1970's was uncertain and scary a lot of the time. I, for one, have never sat next to a crate of homemade petrol bombs while the elder males in my family guarded the street on which we lived.

David has.

Yet, if you ask him about his childhood, the first things he will tell you about are the more personal struggles he faced. Insecurity, shyness, a quest for his identity. Also, the love he felt from his family. The togetherness of his community. The Troubles of Northern Ireland were little more than the historic backdrop of his life, a piece of the puzzle. They do not define him, and that is admirable.

How the Title Was Chosen

"One Way To Grace"

If your wondering how the name of this testimonial memoir came about?

For a few years I've had placed upon my heart 'One Way' (out of this world,one way up etc), as a title, accompanied with the words of Jesus below:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6

So "The Way" (one way), this is where this title partially came from. I couldnt think of anything else!
I emphasized this to Dawn only in my heart I knew God would provide a fitting title.

But my God shall supply all your need according
to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

To my Amazement 'All Glory To God', he used Dawn to get the next two words of the title 'To Grace,'

My Mother(in memory of her) passed over nearly 3 years ago this year her name is 'Grace' (Wow!)

Also approximately 9 near death experiences in my life. By God's Grace, I am alive today.
This is how good God is through using people as instruments in others lives to fulfil his plan and purpose- Born Again or Not!

Dawn and I are so very grateful to be here today to tell this  Powerful Testimony of 'God's Grace' to all who are willing to recieve his Love through his Son Jesus.

Trust Me: Building Trust Across an Ocean

As the writer portion of the One Way to Grace partnership, trust plays a huge role in my ability to complete my work.

Why Trust Was a Must

The first half of One Way to Grace deals with David's childhood and the details of his alcoholism. It is not always easy to rehash the most painful and embarrassing moments in your life with someone you've never seen in person. Actually, it's never all that easy. The only way to make it work, and end up with a fully genuine final product, is to cultivate a deep sense of trust.

Earning Trust

Prior to conducting any official interviews, David and I simply had conversations. I got to know the man who lived the life I was so passionate about writing. We are all more than the content of our personal timeline. David's personality, his soul, shape the way he perceives the things he has experienced. The trust that comes from open and honest conversations sheds light on who David truly is, what his inner voice sounds like.

Maintaining Trust

Once a strong bond of trust existed between David and me, it was important to maintain that valuable trust throughout the writing process. Especially now, as we begin the business portion of bringing a memoir to the reading world, we need to rely on each other's honesty.

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing," needs to go without saying sometimes, and that's what a balance of business and personal trust can allow.

Utilizing Trust

The trust between David and I strengthens the friendship behind the One Way to Grace partnership. It is also an important tool I utilize in my writing. When our chapter meetings are over and I go off on my own to turn my interview notes into readable work, I rely on David's trust in me to make vital artistic choices. If I felt as though David did not trust me to create a true interpretation of his innermost memories, emotions and demons, I would be unable to make the big leaps of Faith that go into some of the best prose.

My implicit trust in David as a business partner makes me comfortable sharing my ideas freely. I know he'll tell me exactly what he thinks, correct me when I'm wrong, and support me when I'm right. For example, when David said something about our most recently completed chapter didn't feel right. I trusted his perception and spent hours re-reading the piece. Eventually, I realized there was a pacing issue that was easy to fix but hard to spot.

Trust is essential. When you all finally get a chance to read David's story, I hope that trust is evident. Correction, I know it will be. 

Finding Scripture Through Prayer

What a privilege it is to work with Dawn on each Chapter of this memoir. The headed Scripture for each Chapter has been for me challenging, so Prayer is so important, and too see how God actually is guiding both Dawn and myself to finding these Scriptures is amazing!

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto
God.
Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye
shall receive.

I thank God that we all have access to his word and instruction for life itself.

Ghostwriter to Partner: The Writer Behind the Curtain

The definition for a ghostwriter is:
"...a writer who writes books, articles, stories, reports, or other texts that are officially credited to another person." -Wikipedia

You've most likely seen some of my work on web portals, blogs, and other informational online sources without even knowing I wrote it. Many freelance writers spend a lot of time producing work that never bears their name. It's a fun and interesting way to gain experience writing professionally. I have written hundreds of articles that have helped me hone my skills and pay a bill here or there.

Dawn's "office"

When I proposed helping David turn his incredible life story into a moving testimonial memoir, I envisioned my role as,at most, ghostwriter; the lady behind the curtain, if you will. As you can see, the curtain has been drawn back and I am a named, visible writing partner on One Way to Grace. How did that happen?

David wanted to be open and honest about the creation of this book. He expressed to me that by taking my name off of the project, he would be ignoring the contributions I've made. I told him the only recognition I needed was the knowledge that his story was being shared with you all. But, he's the boss! He put his foot down on the matter and I went from the unseen ghostwriter to a co-writer.

My Role

So, you may ask this question--- If this is David's memoir, his life story, why does he need a writing partner?

After expressing to David the real potential I saw in his story, I sent him a small proposal containing some of my ideas for the look, feel, and overall message of the memoir. As a friend, I wanted him to have a good running head start on the project. In my head, the proposal could get him fired up about his ability to reach out to people. Maybe he could use me as a consultant, a small service I've provided to one or two other writers. I didn't want David's money, never wanted to charge him a fee for the help I could provide. I saw the impact David could make by telling his story, and wanted to be a part of all that good in any way possible.

David took one look at the proposal and emailed me back that he would need more than the occasional proofread or consultation. His storytelling skills are impressive; I could listen to him talk for hours. What he was unsure of was his ability to transform his stories into a readable memoir, into a work of art that can best share the beautiful message of faith and redemption his life represents. He saw my vision for the work, saw how many people my words and his story could touch.

My Words, David's Story

Next, I explained to David about the ghostwriting process. It would take a while, but through a series of conversations and pointed interviews, I was sure I could absorb the details of his life and reproduce them in a compelling manner. All of the elements of a page-turning plot are right there in the timeline of David's life. A writer couldn't have constructed a better main character. To truly capture the tension of Northern Ireland in the 1970's, the desperation of alcoholism, the struggle of a broken marriage, and the eventual surrender to Christ...this was a challenge and privilege to take on. I was thrilled to become David's ghostwriter.

Then, one day David and I were talking about publishers and book promotion. I brought up how he would need to get to know his readers. (Hi, readers!) To this point he said:
"Yeah, but you'll be there with me, so it'll be fine."

I was silent for a couple seconds. I said I was the ghostwriter, you can't see ghosts. That's what makes them ghosts. The readers won't know who I am, won't know I wrote a word of the book. It's David's memoir, after all. Plenty of memoirs are written with a ghostwriter. Celebrities and businessmen do it all the time. Nothing wrong with it. David was not happy with that arrangement. And, like I said earlier...he's the boss. So, now my name will be on the cover with his. I'll be a credited writer.
Super cool, if you ask me, and very unexpected. It's been an honor to work on this project, it'll be an honor to stand beside David as the world gets to know his life story.

That's how I went from ghostwriter to partner, how the curtain got pulled back, how a hopeful agnostic from the U.S. wound up co-writing the memoir of a born-again Christian man from the U.K.
