The Holy Bible tells us about the blood from Genesis to Revelation and many people wonder why God demands blood. Blood stands for life. When blood leaves your body that means life is gone.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
From the third chapter of Genesis, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden and broke God’s Law, rebelled against God and their eyes were opened and knew they were naked. God went out into the field and slew some animals and shed some blood in order to take the skin and cover their nakedness. From that moment on blood has been shed as a symbol of our salvation.
Cain and Abel made an offering to the LORD. Cain brought of the fruit of the ground to God as an offering, God rejected Cain’s offering. Abel brought of a blood sacrifice the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof, and the LORD had respect to Able and his offering. Cain grew very angry with his brother and slew him. That was the first murder and blood again was slain, shed in anger and war has been going on between brothers and the human race ever since.
When Moses was in Egypt, to get the people out of Egypt, to lead them into the promise land. God brought many plaques and the last plaque was all the first born in the land of Egypt shall die. Tell the Jewish people to go out and slay a lamb without blemish and put the blood on the door post. When I see the blood, I will Passover the door, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you.
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
The Holy Bible teaches that we as a human race are in the pawnshop of the devil and by disobedience we’re enslaved spiritually under his authority. Unable to redeem ourselves, Christ willingly laid His life down, died on the cross, was buried and resurrected three days later for our salvation and redeemed us by the giving of His own blood. He gave His blood to pay for our sins to redeem us and if you’re not under the blood you’re not going to heaven. You must be under the blood. Are you sure that, that experience has been yours? You must repent of sin and believe, trust in Jesus Christ alone.
2. Remission (which means forgiveness)
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
We cannot do it ourselves its impossible. You can work all your life and do good works and pay money to the church, but that won’t justify you. The only thing that will justify you is the blood of Jesus Christ, and justification means also just as though you’re never sinned. That’s the power of the blood.
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
With Blessing in Christ,
