THE DECEPTION OF MORMONISM

1.Christian belief of the word God

We use the word God, we mean the Creator of the universe, the one who manifest Himself to Moses on Mount Sinai, the God of Israel. There is only one Creator. There are lots of gods with small g, handmade gods, gods that are made up in the minds of people, but there is only one Creator, the one in whom dwells eternal life God Almighty. There’s always only been one God and always will be one God.

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Isaiah 46:9KJV

Mormon belief of the word God

The god that they follow and serve is one of countless gods. Who began as a mortal man on another planet, and became god through learning and obedience he was given this planet to rule, who is Elohim. Mormons believe that they too can become a god like him and be given their own planet to rule over.

2.Christian belief of the Gospel

The gospel is Christ died for our sins and rose again three days later according to the scriptures. The word gospel means “good news”. A preacher of the gospel preaches the gospel with the law of God to show what sin is, so we see a need of the Saviour. The gospel is Christ died for our sins and defeated sin and death.

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith Galatians 3:24KJV

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:1 Corinthians 15:3-4KJV

Mormon belief of the gospel

Latter-day Saints beliefs is from five main sources:

1.The book of Mormon, Joseph Smith said is “the most correct of any book on earth”.

2.The Doctrine and Covenants (mostly theology)

3.The Pearl of Great Price

4. The King James Bible, “insofar as it translated correctly” for the average Mormon this means that the Bible cannot be trusted, which is why Joseph Smith began his own ”inspired” translation.

5.The Mormon president, considered to be the final authority and voice of God on earth today- like a Mormon pope.

For the Mormons gospel is merely just following the teachings of the Mormon church.

3.Christian belief of Heaven

Heaven is the dwelling place of God. Born again Bible believing Christians will be in the presence of God forever. When we speak of heaven or our hope of eternity, the Bible says we will receive a new heavenly body like Jesus had when He rose from the dead. Bodies that are not subject to disease, decay and death.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God Revelation 21:3 KJV

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself Philippians 3:21KJV

Mormon belief of heaven

Mormons believe that, after the final judgement, almost everyone will go to some form of heaven. For the Mormons, heaven is divided into 3 kingdoms. Celestial, Terrestrial and Telestial. The Celestial is only for faithful Mormons who meet all the requirements will enter this highest kingdom, Terrestrial is for those refuse to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ but who live honourable lives, most Mormons will also end up here. Telestial is for everyone else who is wicked and ungodly.

4.Christian belief of Hell

Hell is eternal damnation. A place where people are treated given their just punishment, exactly what they deserve according to the perfect righteousness of God. Outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Everybody who’s name was not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire and get their eternal punishment in hell.

And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth Matthew 13:50 KJV

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire Revelation 20:14-15 KJV

Mormon belief of Hell

Mormons believe in hell and for them there are two types of hell. One is a state of pain, guilt, and anguish where the spirits of the wicked will be after they die but before the final judgment (a state of spirit prison).  The other is an everlasting state of hell reserved for a few truly wicked (outer darkness) they taught that its only for the “sons of perdition” the devil and his angels, and a few apostate Mormons.

Mormon belief of Jesus

Mormons believe God came to this planet he brought his goddess wives, and they began producing spirit children who grew and matured in the spirit realm. Jesus was the first of their spirit children to be born in heaven, followed by Lucifer and the rest of us. He is the spirit brother of Satan and He is not eternal God. Mormons deny the Trinity and believe that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate gods. Therefore, instead of teaching that Jesus is our immortal God who became a man, the LDS church teaches that Jesus is a mortal man who became a god and showed that all men can do the same. That certainly isn’t the Jesus of the Bible.

5.Christian belief of Jesus

Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, God manifest in the flesh. God became a human being. He created Himself a body prepared for many. The Bible says, Jesus is the express image of the invisible God. The reason God became a human being was to save us from our sins through His precious blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary, through the death, burial and resurrection. Jesus conquered sin and death to reconcile us unto Him.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:13,14 KJV

Again, the Bible is clear that forgiveness of sins does not depend on our own efforts, but only on what Christ has accomplished for us on the cross. Eternal life is freely available to all who do what the Scriptures command.

Repent from sin, believe and trust in Jesus Christ alone to be saved. Read the Holy Bible (The Instruction book for life itself) and ask God to help us obey what we read.

NEW YEAR, NEW HOPE, NEW BEGINNING

For many people, the new year represents a new beginning, a new hope, and new possibilities. Some people tend to greet it with relief, particularly if the previous year was extremely hard or stressful. It is also a time of reflection, both on the previous year and on the coming new year. We don’t have to wait for a new year to arrive to have a fresh start.

We are thankful to our Lord God Almighty every day for all the blessings that He has bestowed upon us and for bringing us through each and every year. Every breath in our mouths is a gift given to us by our Creator. At times, we are facing uncertainty, but through faith, we rejoice because every day is a blessing from God.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24 KJV

Before you think about or write down your goals for the new year, maybe it’s a good idea to examine yourselves internally first. Begin the new year with a repentant heart, admitting that you've sinned against Almighty God by breaking His laws (the Ten Commandments).

Have you ever lied? (Revelation 21:8)

Have you ever stolen anything regardless of its value? (Exodus 20:15)

Have you ever used God’s name in vain? (Exodus 20:7)

Have you ever looked at a person with lust? (Matthew 5:27,28)

Have you ever hated someone? (1 John 3:15)

If you’ve answered yes to these five questions, by your own admission, you’re a lying, thieving, blasphemer, murderer and adulterer at heart. We’ve only looked at five of the Ten Commandments; that’s how God sees you; nothing is hidden from His holy eyes. (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

To repent is to ask for forgiveness for the sins you have committed (knowing what is right but not doing it) and to be sorry for who you are and what you are. Change your mind from the rejection of Jesus Christ to faith in Jesus Christ, and recognise that He is indeed Lord and Saviour.

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

James 4:17 KJV

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 3:36 KJV

Believing and trusting in the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ alone to save you from the wrath to come through His death, burial, and resurrection, and His precious blood that was shed on the cross at Calvary, God will cleanse you of all of your sins, and He will fill you with the Holy Spirit, granting you the assurance of eternal life. You will then be born again with a new heart (spiritually) and have a desire to do what is righteous.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:14 KJV

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:28 KJV

As a new creature in Christ, each day is a chance to turn the page on an old way of life and embrace a new one through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

The idea of completely surrendering ourselves to God while depending on Him to bring those goals about according to His will means that we entrust our future not to ourselves but to God.

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Proverbs 16:3 KJV

When God is at the centre of our lives, abiding in Him means our goals can succeed; if it is God’s will for something to be fulfilled, it will come to pass.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:5 KJV

The new year should also be a time of renewing old commitments under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Asking God to help us to:

Increase our prayer life (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Read, study, and meditate on the word of God every day (2 Timothy 2:15).

Overcome temptations to sin (Romans 6:6).

Be a part of the Great Commission (Mark 16:15).

Fasting (Matthew 17:21)

The proper response to the past year, whether good or bad, is not "I made it through" or "Look what I achieved." It is "Thank You, Lord God Almighty."

Happy New Year to everyone!

Blessings in Christ,

David & Gay
