SALVATION
Salvation is the work of God in delivering man from
sin. It is provided by Jesus Christ
alone. Guaranteed by the sealing of the Holy Spirit, and secured by God
the Father.
Being confident of this very thing, that
he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ:
Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved.
Acts 4:12 (KJV)
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye
heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that
ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
My Father, which gave them me, is
greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:29 (KJV)
Salvation begins
with justification at the moment of
faith when God saves us from the “punishment
of sin” and declares us righteous. Those justified will never be condemned
or suffer God’s wrath.
Therefore we conclude that a man is
justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 3:28 (KJV)
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that
justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 4:5 (KJV)
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:9 (KJV)
Sanctification follows
justification and saves us from the “power
of sin” through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out
your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both
to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:12-13 (KJV)
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall
die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall
live.
Romans 8:13 (KJV)
Glorification
is when God ultimately saves us from the “presence
of sin” as we enter heaven.
For our conversation is in heaven; from
whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall change our vile body, that it
may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby
he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Philippians 3:20-21 (KJV)
In the body of his flesh through death,
to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Colossians 1:22 (KJV)
