WHAT IS YOUR FIRST PRIORITY IN THE NEW YEAR?

Our first priority in everything is to thank God Almighty for the New Year 2024, and God’s grace for bringing us through every tribulation and trial in every year. Thanking Him for all the miracles, blessings, more outreaches, witnessing the gospel on the streets, the new gospel tract, and to all those who prayed for us, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We have goals, plans, and priorities like the importance of being in God’s word, praying, worshipping, fasting, to be led by the Holy Spirit especially for the work for the Lord that we are called to do—winning souls for Christ. We should not worry of anything because when we seek God first, trusting in Him that, according to His will, everything will fall into place.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 KJV

It is important to value the days that God has given us. One way to obey God is to redeem the time, to be led by the Holy Spirit, especially for the work of the Lord, and to recognise the gift of our lives here on earth. Time—seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years; the fact that we have the privileges of being able to breathe, walk, talk, see, hear, taste, touch, and smell; and the gifts that God has given us that we sometimes take for granted each and every day. These blessings we have received freely from God Almighty.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12 KJV

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15,16 KJV

How about you? What is your priority in the new year? Before you write down your goals and plans, maybe it would be better to examine yourself through the Ten Commandments.

If you obsessively want what somebody has, that makes you a covetous person (Luke 12:15).

If you bear false witness, that makes you a liar (Proverbs 19:9).

If you stole anything, regardless of its value, that makes you a thief (Exodus 20:15).

If you look at someone with lust, that makes you an adulterer at heart (Matthew 5:27,28).

If you’ve admitted that you’ve done those things mentioned above, then you’re covetous, a liar, a thief, and an adulterer at heart. We've only looked at four of the Ten Commandments. That’s how God sees you; nothing is hidden from His holy eyes. You will be guilty before the presence of God and end up in His eternal prison, a place called hell.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Proverbs 15:3 KJV

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 2 Thessalonians 1:8,9 KJV

Nobody can keep the law (Ten Commandments), which is why Jesus Christ came not only to save us from our sins but also to fulfil the law.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 KJV

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17 KJV

Repent and be sorry for who and what you are. Change your mind from the rejection of Jesus Christ to faith in Jesus Christ; believe alone in what He has done for you on the cross; through the death, burial and resurrection, recognize that He is indeed Lord and Saviour, and His holy and precious blood will cleanse you from all sins that you have committed.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. Acts 17:30,31 KJV

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 KJV

You will then be a new creature in Christ (born-again), filled with the Holy Spirit. Each day is a chance to turn the page on an old way of life and embrace a newness in Christ.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:7 KJV

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 1:13 KJV

Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow; please prioritize the free gift of salvation today. This should be your number one goal to receive everlasting life.

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

2 Corinthians 6:2 KJV
