If someone were to insult you, you would feel offended right away. If someone were to put you to shame, you would be the first to know. If somebody deceived you, you might never know. As painful as being insulted or shamed can be, at least you’re aware of what's taking place. People who are being deceived are not even aware they’re being led astray, unless they are told the truth. Is the source of your truth trustworthy? Does it protect you from the deceiver of this world, the devil, who is the father of all lies?
Many believe in their good works and trust in themselves, their religions, and their leaders to guide them to be saved. Satan’s servants disguise themselves as Christ's followers, but truly, they are deceitful workers. How can you know for sure that they are telling the truth? Please examine if there is truthfulness in what they say based on the infallible word of God. The Holy Bible must be the only standard to examine yourself and others by.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be trans-formed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
One of the most terrifying words ever spoken by Jesus Christ is when He tells the victims of deception who trust in their good works to save them; these are religious people who called Jesus 'Lord' twice, claimed good works, namely miracles, casting out devils, and prophesying in His name, yet Jesus said, "I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity, because their hearts were not regenerated or saved to begin with (not born-again).
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23
Ask yourself: Have you ever lied?
Have you ever stolen anything regardless of its value?
Have you blasphemed God’s name?
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28
Have you hated someone?
If you answered yes, by your own admission, you’re a lying thief, blasphemer, adulterer, and murderer at heart. Sin is so serious for a holy, just, and righteous God. We are all on death row; Our appointment with death comes with an unavoidable judgement.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
Those who die in unbelief are unforgiven and will experience the eternal fires of hell, away from the presence of the Lord.
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:42
There is One truth that is trustworthy and will lead you to everlasting life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the One and only way to the Father. He is the only mediator;
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5
Jesus shed His holy and precious blood and made a selfless sacrifice to reconcile us to the Father. Do you trust in the precious blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse you from all sins?
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22
Tragically, many people are misled and deceived about the most important issue of their lives: their eternal destination (Heaven or Hell). Please examine yourself, believe, repent (to be sorry for who you are and what you are. To change your mind from unbelief to belief in Jesus Christ) and trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you through His death, burial, and resurrection. You will then be filled with the Holy Spirit, be changed inwardly (born-again), and receive the free gift of everlasting life.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:7
