LIGHT OF THE WORLD
First of all, we thank God Almighty for this New Year
2021.
Happy New Year to everyone, we also thank God for the
year 2020 for the work He has done through our ministry “One Way to Grace”, for
all the witnessing, for the thousands of gospel tracts that have been given out,
people’s receiving hearts for the gospel of Christ, and for our brothers and
sisters in Christ for their continual prayer and support through Bible studies,
social media videos, Zoom and YouTube meetings encouragement etc, despite the
pandemic and the restrictions that we all have had and are in place.
We pray this may be a better year for us all, a year
of reconciliation, a year of hope, hope that people may come to know the truth
of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said “I am the light of the world”, declaring
Himself to be the Light of the world, Jesus was claiming that He is the
exclusive source of spiritual light. No other source of spiritual truth is
available in mankind. He also said “he that followeth me shall not walk in
darkness, but shall have the light of life”.
Then spake
Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth
me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12 KJV
None
of us ever thought that we would be going through the year we just had, lockdowns,
social distancing, face coverings, frequent handwashing, job losses, separated
from families, friends and most of all the loss of love one’s, family and
friends.
No
matter how and where this pandemic started [ Please read our blog March 2020
“Pandemic, Diseases and Sicknesses”] the fact that we all have to come to terms
with, is that God has allowed this to happen for His own plans and purposes
because of love. God has a way of humbling everyone of us and desires that all
men come to repentance.
The Lord is not
slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering
to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 KJV
The
Bible warns that perilous times shall come at the end of the age and men’s
hearts failing for fears and for looking after those things which are coming to
earth.
This know also,
that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 Timothy 3:1 KJV
Men's hearts
failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on
the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luke 21:26 KJV
Jesus said, that when these things come to pass, we’re
not to fear but to look up because our redemption is near.
And when these
things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your
redemption draweth nigh.
Luke 21:28 KJV
Here
is something which we can truly thank God about this tragic killer virus. It’s
reminding each one of us of our mortality and that’s opening the hearts of many
for the gospel. How do you get to heaven? What have you got to do? good works? No!
No good works can save you. The only way you can be saved is through the grace
and mercy of God.
For by grace
are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works,
lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8,9
KJV
Please
examine yourself by God’s Law the Ten Commandments.
Have
your ever lied even once? What do you call to someone who lies?
Have
you ever stolen anything irrespective of its value in your entire life? What do
you call to someone who steals?
Have
you ever used God’s name in vain? Would you use your mother’s name as a cuss
word? No, why not? (because you respect her but you don’t respect God, you’ve
taken His holy name and brought it down to a level of a filth word to express
disgust). It’s called blasphemy, punishable by death in the Old Testament.
If
you hate your brother you committed murder of the heart (1 John 3:15)
If
you have answered “Yes” to these four questions then by your own admission, you
admitted you’re a lying, thieving, blasphemer and a murderer at heart, that’s
only four of the Ten Commandments. That’s how God sees you.
In
God’s court room our sins are very serious crimes. He will even judge our words
and thoughts. This is how serious sin is to God. If you have violated any of
God’s Laws, you will be guilty on Judgement day. The wages of sin is death, and
you will end up in a terrible place called Hell. God doesn’t want you to go to
Hell, neither do you want to go there.
For the wages
of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Romans 6:23 KJV
However, the Bible says God is rich in mercy and in
His great kindness He provided a Saviour Jesus Christ took the punishment for
the sins of the world.
But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8KJV
He died on the cross so that we could be forgiven,
then He rose from the dead three days later and defeated death. Hundreds saw
Him after His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15).
It’s no fairy tale. To receive everlasting life as a free gift, repent, believe
and trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you and you will pass from death to
life.
Verily, verily,
I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from
death unto life.
John 5:24 KJV
When
are you going to repent, believe and trust in the Saviour Jesus Christ alone?
When are you going to get right with God? When are you going to die? None of us
are guaranteed tomorrow, today is the day of Salvation.
(For he saith,
I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I
succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of
salvation.)
2 Corinthians 6:2 KJV
Please think seriously about this, there is nothing
more important than your eternal Salvation.
Thank you to all our readers.
God bless you all.
