THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

The Holy Bible tells us about the blood from Genesis to Revelation and many people wonder why God demands blood. Blood stands for life. When blood leaves your body that means life is gone.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Leviticus 17:11 KJV

From the third chapter of Genesis, when man was in the Garden of Eden and he broke God’s Law, he rebelled against God and he found out that he was naked and God went out into the field and slew some animals and shed some blood in order to take the skin and cover their nakedness. From that moment on blood has been shed as a symbol of our salvation.

Cain and Abel had apparently been instructed how to worship God and Cain paid no attention, he brought some vegetables to God as an offering, God rejected it. Abel brought a blood sacrifice a calf and offered it to the Lord and God accepted it. Cain grew very angry and very jealous of his brother and slew him. That was the first murder and blood again was slain, shed in anger and war has been going on between brothers and the human race ever since. Jesus said there will be wars and rumours of wars till the end of time.

When Moses was down in Egypt, trying to get the people out of Egypt, trying to get them into the promise land. He was having this debate with Pharaoh. God said and you remember alright tell them I’m going to kill the first born in all of Egypt tonight. Tell the Jewish people to go out and slay a lamb without blemish and put the blood on the door post. When I see the blood I will Passover, not when I see the good works and that was the beginning of the Passover. God said when I see the blood I will Passover you.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. Exodus 12:13 KJV

There are several great words on the power and the value of the blood.

1. Redemption (which means deliverance)

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV

The Bible teaches that we as a human race are in the pawnshop of the devil and by disobedience we’re enslaved spiritually under his authority. Unable to redeem ourselves, and Christ died on the cross and paid the price for our salvation and redeemed us by the giving of His own blood. He gave His blood to pay for our sins to redeem us and if you’re not under the blood you’re not going to heaven. You must be under the blood. Are you sure that, that experience has been yours? You have to believe, repent, trust and faith in Christ alone to save you.

2. Remission (which means forgiveness)

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28 KJV

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 KJV

The blood you see is a shadow and the type in the Old Testament and it was sprinkled on the tabernacle, the vessels, the book, and the congregations annually and this action enabled God to forgive sins. Divine justice was satisfied and Divine mercy extended through the types of blood. And Jesus in His death on the cross made possible the forgiveness of sins through His blood. This is the heart of the gospel. There is no gospel but this.

3.Justification (which means justified as if we have never sinned, to be proven innocent, free from blame.)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 KJV

We cannot do it ourselves it’s impossible. You can work all your life and do good works and pay money to the church, but that won’t justify you. The only thing that will justify you in heaven, on earth is the blood of Jesus Christ, and justification means again just as though you’re never sinned. That’s the power of the blood.

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 3:24 KJV

Notice His Grace, Grace is unmerited favour, something we don’t deserve. We don’t deserve our sins forgiven, we don’t deserve to go to heaven, we’ll be honest with you, we don’t deserve it, we deserve hell, but we received forgiveness and justification and our names written in the Book of Life, and we are going to receive heaven forever because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

 4. Cleansing

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 KJV

When you come to the cross not only does He cleanse all the past sins, but that blood is available for any present or future sins. So that you stand before God justified and pure ready to go to heaven. That’s a marvellous thing to have happen to you. God can no longer see your sins. We’re cleansed by the blood in the spiritual realm. God offers a new chance. Wouldn’t that be wonderful a brand new start in life to be born from above, to be born anew, born again to start over and all the past, present and future sins forgiven, that’s what God offers you.

 5. Peace

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Colossians 1:20 KJV

Because of the blood of Jesus Christ we can have peace. There are 3 types of peace spoken in the Bible. First is peace with God. He makes peace at the cross. Then there’s the peace of God the Holy Spirit produces in you, when you come to Christ you have a peace that you have never known before. Think of the restlessness in the world today. Among so many of us, the pressures that we live under but to think of having peace in the midst of it all and then there is peace between nations and that’s going to happen someday when Jesus comes back again and reign as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. You can have that peace here and now. In the midst of the troubles and trials, and discouragements of life and the pressures of life you can have the peace of God which passeth all understanding.

If you have been pardoned by God, you can stand before anything in this world with peace in your heart, because if you’re ready to die you’re ready to live. And you’ve already been forgiven because of the blood of Christ. It was all done at the cross; Jesus saves sinners like you and me. Is the blood of Jesus Christ sprinkled on the door of your heart? Will the judgement of God Passover you? Or are you going to face the judgement of God? Which is it going to be?

OBSTACLES IN COMING TO CHRIST

Many of you would like to know Jesus and would like to get close to Jesus. You would like to have Jesus in your heart and you would like to have salvation but you face many obstacles.

What are they?

1. Pride

The Bible teaches that pride keeps more people from Christ than any other sin. The sin of pride. Pride is taking the glory that belongs to God alone and keeping it for ourselves. The Bible says God resisteth the proud but give grace to the humble.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

James 4:6(KJV)

Jesus said we are to become His little children to be converted.

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:3(KJV)

2. Idolatry

Creating a god in our mind or anything that replaces God in our lives. It keeps us from Christ. Idolatry happens when we idolize ourselves, we idolize man, we idolize material things and all of these things become false gods. The Bible says these who commit idolatry shall have their part in the lake of fire.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21:8(KJV)

The Bible says thou shall have no other gods and shall not make any graven image nor bow down thyself to them.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Exodus 20:3-5(KJV)

3. Worldliness

The interest or pleasure of this world. There are many of us who are selling our soul for a little bit of this world. Suppose you have all the gold, oil, diamonds, and all the wealth of the whole world and all the degrees of education and lose your soul.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew 16:26(KJV)

The Bible says we need to give up the wrong things that are in the world, the lust, greed, hate, prejudice, and the materialism part of the world that’s wrong. We have to turn from those things when we come to Christ.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:15(KJV)

4. Secret sin

Our families and friends may not even know about our secret sins but we know. Most of all nothing is hid from God and He is speaking to us about our secret sin. Perhaps we have been battling with the hidden man of our hearts with the secret sins. Confess them to Christ, come to the cross and bring those secret sins before the Lord and surrender everything to Him.

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Romans 2:16(KJV)

The Bible says God will judge every secret things whether good or evil.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14(KJV)

5. Self Righteousness

Is another thing that keeps people from Christ. They have a very good opinion of themselves and their own character and yet are not cleansed from their filthiness of their hearts.

There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Proverbs 30:12(KJV)

Saying we are good when we are bad. Saying we are good but actually we are sinning, breaking God’s law. Confident of one’s own righteousness.

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Romans 10:3(KJV)

WHY IS THERE SUFFERING?

There are no words to describe the anguish being felt by those who are suffering today, our heart and prayers have and will go out to them. There’s illness, crime, death etc. Perhaps you have been asking the question “WHY”?

God created man perfect, and he lived in a perfect world without suffering. The Bible tells us that God cursed the earth because of Adam’s sin. When sin came into the world, death and misery came with it.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Genesis 3:17(KJV)

Sadly, many use the issue of suffering as an excuse to reject any thought of God, when existence of suffering is the very reason we should accept Him. To understand why there is suffering we must read His Word, the Holy Bible.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 5:12(KJV)

How can we know that the Bible is true? Simply read and study the prophecies of: Matthew 24, Luke 21, and 2 Timothy 3. When people repent, believe Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, fully trust, have faith in Him alone, whatever life brings only Jesus Christ can be relied on.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mark 1:15(KJV)

When people receive the message of the Holy Bible they can say that all sufferings are temporal for those who have sincerely repented and believed the gospel of Jesus Christ, and are now awaiting on the new heaven and a new earth where there will be no sorrow and pain for God will wipe away all tears, and make all things new.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Revelation 21:4-5(KJV)

HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN

                                           HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN

Church attendance, baptism, conformation, speaking in tongues doesn’t save you. You’re only saved when you’re born again.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:3(KJV)

To be born again is quite simple:

1. Recognize you’re a sinner, somebody who is unworthy, somebody who knows he/she has broken God’s Law, somebody who knows that he deserves to go to hell.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21:8(KJV)

2. Realize that Jesus Christ died for your sins. A description of God’s love toward us. It is love given to the undeserving, to the ungodly and to sinners. This emphasizes the fact that the reasons for God’s love are found in Him, not in us. God’s love is so great that in His love, He went to the ultimate measure to make us able to stand in the face of His holy righteousness, through Jesus; God gave His love for us even when we are guilty sinners.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8(KJV)

3. Change your mind from the rejection of Jesus Christ to the faith in Jesus Christ that produces a change of heart. God commanded everyone to repent.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Acts 17:30-31(KJV)

4. Receive Jesus Christ into your life. Believe, trust in Him alone, read the Holy Bible and obey what you read.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17(KJV)

This is a promise for anyone! It doesn’t matter what class, what race, what nationality, what language, or what level of intelligence. Anyone can be a new creation in Jesus Christ. However, being a new creation doesn’t mean that we are perfect, it means that we are changed inwardly, and learn through God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit how we should live being born again in Christ.

                                             THE RISEN CHRIST

Above: On back of door in Tomb of Jesus

The reason why God commands all men everywhere to repent is…. Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.(Acts 17:31)

We can have assurance that the day of judgement will take place and that Jesus will judge the earth - because of the resurrection.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation 20:12(KJV)

The Garden Tomb is believed by many to be the garden and sepulchre of Joseph of Arimathea, and therefore a possible site of the resurrection of Jesus.

So should we then try and convince an unbelieving world of the resurrection?
God’s Word is very clear about Jesus Christ resurrection appearances below:

Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God - who was beaten and bruised for our transgressions, willingly giving up His life to conquer the grave for us!He then rose from the dead, because it was not possible that death could hold him.

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.Acts 2:24(KJV)

Above:Tomb of Jesus

When sinners repent and believe the gospel, the eyes of their understanding are enlightened. They pass from darkness into light, from death to life.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:24(KJV)

We then become a new creation in Christ with a brand new heart and new desires.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17(KJV)

Above: Outside Tomb of Jesus

It is through the power of the gospel that the world will appreciate the miracle of the risen Christ who is the resurrection, also have assurance that God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness.

So celebrate the resurrection by sharing the good news of the gospel with someone today.

SEVEN LAST WORDS

SEVEN LAST WORDS

Jesus Christ spoke seven remarkable words after He was nailed to the cross and before he died.

Christ prayer for the sinners, though they were His persecutors and murderers, He prayed Father, forgive them.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Luke 23:34 (KJV)

Jesus Christ was crucified between two thieves. They were guilty before God, but one of the thieves said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. The thief repented and believed that Jesus is God.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Luke 23:43 (KJV)

There stood by the cross, His mother, some of His relations, friends and His disciple.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

John 19:26-27 (KJV)

When our Lord Jesus was suffering, for a time, forsaken by His Father because of our sins that He took upon Himself. When we are in sin we are separated from God.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Matthew 27:46 (KJV)

Jesus was thirsty after the accomplishment of the work of our redemption.

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

John 19:28 (KJV)

The commandment of His Father concerning His sufferings was now fulfilled.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

John 19:30 (KJV)

The words of Jesus as He breathed out his last breath.

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Luke 23:46(KJV)

Jesus was obedient to His Father even unto death. When we humble ourselves, acknowledge our sins, repent and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, He will save us from the wrath to come. Read his word the Holy Bible and obey what you read. Christ intercedes for all that repent, believe and trust in Him.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

TRUTH

TRUTH

Jesus is the truth. His Word is truth and He came to testify to the truth. Jesus and His Word are the only infallible sources for truth.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6 (KJV)
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 17:17 (KJV)

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

John 18:37(KJV)

Those who abide in God’s word, know the truth and the truth sets them free. Everyone who is of the truth hears the Saviours voice and comes into the light.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 3:21 (KJV)

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:31-32 (KJV)

Believers of the truth are born of God, sanctified, sealed and saved.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

James 1:18 (KJV)

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 (KJV)

Worshippers of God must worship Him in truth. Those who suppress the truth should fear the wrath of God.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 4:24 (KJV)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
